MD Now and Wellspring Health Services Urgent Care Centers Implement Environmental Scenting Programs With Air Esscentials
MIAMI, July 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Urgent care walk-in clinics are implementing environmental scenting at an unprecedented pace. This month, MD Now, a chain of urgent care centers in South Florida, and Wellspring Health Services, an urgent care facility based in Virginia, both tapped Miami-based Air Esscentials to scent their facilities.
MD Now is a fast-growing company with 33 locations in South Florida, currently serving Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. MD Now offers clients walk-in service for non-emergency care for minor injuries, upper respiratory infections, immunizations and more and offers extended hours when regular physician offices might be closed. MD Now is diffusing Dark Vanilla fragrance in the waiting areas of all of their facilities.
“We are very happy with the scenting. We’ve gotten nothing but great feedback from both patients and staff and we will be implementing it in the 4-5 additional locations that will open later this year,” said Day Schuler, Operations Manager for MD Now.
Wellspring Health Services, located in Culpeper, Virginia, provides family medicine, diagnostic testing and urgent care services to residents of the Piedmont and Central Virginia region. Wellspring is using Sensual Wood fragrance in its waiting area.
Dr. Khalid Athar, CEO of Wellspring commented, “When I was deciding what kind of facility I wanted, I knew that I wanted it to be multi-sensory so that it would be a calming place for patients. Patients have been loving the scent. A lot of them have given us positive feedback, saying that as soon as they walk in the door, they feel calmer.” In addition to the scent in the waiting area, Wellspring also shows beautiful visuals of nature with soothing music to further relax patients.
More and more medical centers are using scent to ease patient anxiety, eliminate malodors and create a more pleasant environment for patients and staff. Air Esscentials recently implemented scent programs at two medical facilities: The Lennar Foundation Medical Center and the North Shore Medical Center; they join many others nationwide using scent to improve the environment, the patient experience and patient outcomes. “Since patients coming to an urgent care clinic generally have a sickness or injury, they tend to arrived with a great deal of stress and anxiety,” said Spence Levy, President of Air Esscentials. “We are happy to partner with MD Now and Wellspring to alleviate some of their stress and give these patients the best possible healthcare experience.”
